The results of working together are evident in our clients' successes. In 2009:

• 80% of youth improved their support base, by discharge
• 76% that came to Argus without productive activity secured employment, enrolled in school or started to actively job search within 12 days of shelter stay
• 90% of youth that came to Argus with productive activity maintained their productive activity status for the duration of their stay
• 93% participated in Argus’ life-skill acquisition program (group, AR’s, 1-2-1’s)
• 75% of youth goals relating to employment, education, health or civic engagement were achieved

"Before I came to Argus, my life was going downhill. I didn't think my life was worth living. Then an amazing thing happened. I was able to find residence at Argus and they helped me accomplish what was needed to be able to move back home. I received an extremely warm welcome from all the staff, volunteers and the people that would be staying at Argus with me. It was extremely emotional at first, but a few days passed and I grew attached to the place. Despite having many rules to follow it was a good place to live. On top of that, I made many new friends and another family. Now, I have graduated from high school have a full time job and a girlfriend. Everything is going uphill. "The effects of my stay at Argus are obvious to anyone that knew me before I moved. I have now become much more confident in social settings, become more physically fit, achieved much more emotional maturity and generally feel better about myself. I have also obtained my high school diploma, with five academic awards to go along with it. I have been able to work in jobs directly related to my desired future career (electrician) and I have been accepted into a college, where I will receive the education necessary to become fully qualified in my career path. I might add that I was also accepted at the other four colleges that I applied at; hardly surprising considering my average has been above 90% throughout my final semester. I do not believe that I would have been able to achieve such success without Argus. I would have been left in a poor family situation and would not have gotten good jobs, or improved my character, or have graduated with the prestige that I did.
